Our little Sherman!

Sherman Newcomer-sorry Ryan and Randy no Beaugard!

For over a month and then some Ryan and I have been debating getting a dog, and if you are a Newcomer or know anything about their dog past a basset hound was a must! There was the obvious puppy mills we could have gotten one from but we wanted to find a breeder here in Utah and pick him out for ourselves. Well we finally found a breeder in Midway and called her up and she had 2 males and 7 females. On Saturday while I was at a bridal shower the kids and Ryan took a drive to Midway, not too far just a 30 minute drive!! The breeder is awesome and has a whole breeder clinic/house dedicated to her business. I have only gotten to see pictures of him since like I said I wasn't there. But from the 4 pictures Ryan sent me he is so dang cute. He isn't Festus, the Newcomers beloved basset from Washington but he will do! He's not ready yet, he'll be 6 weeks on Saturday so thats when we'll pick him up and bring him home to this craziness! I'll take more pictures when we get him home and post them but here are a few to show you how cute he is!

Our Little Man

The traditional jell-o cake!
Yes it was a Transformers birthday, it wouldn't be Reese if it wasn't a superhero birthday, somehow someway!
Lets give it up for Uncle Kev and his wonderful taste!!!
This was the only picture I could get of him with one of his presents, he didn't pose very well in all the excitement.

This past Sunday we celebrated Reese's birthday, which is this coming up Sunday April 27 because my family wasn't going to be here on Reese's actual birthday. We had a great dinner and we're so glad to have some family around to celebrate important moments like this for our kiddles!

Ryan and I always talk about how when Reese was born we were so excited for him to grow up and start doing bigger kid things. Well now that he's turning 6 it seems like time has flown by and our little man really is getting to be a little man. He was our little "surprise" believe me we were a little shocked we got pregnant 3 months after we got married but of course we wouldn't have it any other way. He's accomplished so much this past year, with starting kindergarten and learning all sorts of new things. He's constantly making us laugh at the hilarious things that he comes up with. I think little kids are built with honesty filters, everything that comes out is their true and honest feelings, no holds bar!! :) Anyway we love our little guy and are so very proud of how smart and friendly he is! He's definitely not shy when it comes to meeting new people. We love him to pieces and hope he continues to be a happy little guy!

Dirt Buddies

Trying to escape!
Talking about how they're going to make a break for it!

Lauren's beloved Bear Bear was not left out in all the fun, apparently he got "hungry"

For once in a long time we had wonderful weather!!! Those of you family members and friends that live in your perfect weather don't understand how long us Utahans have waited to have great weather again! Yesterday it was in the 70's and it felt wonderful, our black car was even hot when we got in it after church! So when we got home from church we let the kids out in their shorts and short sleeve shirts to wonder around in our dirt lot! There isn't anything to do back there but they spent about 2 hours back there wondering around and having fun!
Yet there is still snow on our pretty mountains! At least they're pretty to look at with snow on them!

Ellie's Blanket

The day I found out I was having a girl, what a week ago I went to JoAnn Fabric to look for fabric to make a blanket for the baby. Reese and Lauren have baby blankets I've made and so on with the tradition. I found this really cute fabric that is a really pretty robin's egg blue and another fabric that had more of a raspberry colored flower. Lauren's room colors are very girly, rose pink, sage green, beige, and cream that vintage rose look. Anyway so I wanted Ellie to have that same extra girly look but with obviously different colors. And so my quest to find coordinating fabrics to match that pretty blue fabric from JoAnns began. I've gone to about 4 different quilting stores and found all the fabric. Now the not so fun part of cutting fabric begins but I'm excited to see how her blanket turns out.

Little Miss Graceful

Pity Party for 1!

I was coming out of Costco with my hands slightly full, not really, all I was holding were strawberries, grapes, and a dress, nothing too heavy! Of course I stopped to get my receipt checked and was all set to go when a little person named Lauren was hiding underneath this fat belly of mine and the stuff in my arms. I didn't see her and bumped into her making her fall down spread eagle, I stepped to the side to avoid her and stepped on something most likely her hand. So instead of smashing her fingers to little bits I twisted my ankle and fell to the ground. YES Little Miss Graceful fell at the exit of Costco, dropping my strawberries that I was sure Ryan would be proud of me for picking and pretty much everything in my hands. I felt like an idiot and of course Lauren started screaming. The door receipt ladies were so helpful and a really nice mom and her daughter also helped me. The daughter was even nice enough to run to the back of the store to get me a new thing of strawberries! I'm okay and so is the baby, I think that's why I was crying like a total dork, I just have a really bad sprained ankle! Thank goodness my dad and Dana were home. They both came over and unloaded my car, p.s. I had a car full of groceries as well! I'm so grateful to have my family close! :)

Eleanor Lacey

YAY!! I had my follow up ultra sound and doctors appointment today and got a better peak at this baby!! We are officially having a GIRL! Ryan and I had all these plans if we were having a boy and of course those flew out the door the second I saw those "girl" parts. Poor Ryan I think he might have aged another 10 years when I told him and of course all he was thinking about was more money for another wedding!! We're so excited though and if you didn't catch the name of the blog we are naming her Eleanor Lacey. Eleanor is my grandma's name, my mom's mom. And Lacey cause I've always loved Ryan's only sister's name and have been thinking of first names to put it with and Eleanor just went together. We'll most likely call her Ellie and Lauren made it clear that she is going to call the baby Lacey!! Oh whatever if you know our family we have a bazillion nicknames for our kids anyway! So that's the update on us now just the countdown till she arrives.

Ultrasound tomorrow and funny story!

So tomorrow is my whatever week check up and I also scheduled another ultrasound to put my mind at ease! Ryan OF COURSE is out of town so I'm on my own but I didn't want to wait another two weeks. So cross your fingers everyone!! I'm still hoping for a boy! Here is a funny story from Reese about girls!

The other day I was hanging out at my parents house and the kids were playing down in the basement. Reagan and Lauren were pretending the playroom under the stairs was their house and ordering Reese to not come in. We could here them telling him "DON'T COME IN! GO AWAY!" Being total bossy girls! He thought it was hilarious and they kept bossing him around. All in good fun. So eventually he figures it out and comes upstairs. We could all overhear him talking to my dad and this is what was said...

Dad: "Are the girls being bossy?"
Reese: "Yeah, they keep telling me to go away. And I can't come in their house!"
Dad: "Oh well they aren't being very nice huh?"
Reese: "Yeah they're acting like real women!"

Holy cow, I thought I was going to pee my pants!! And at that this stage in my pregnancy that actually might happen. Anyway thought I would share that funny story with everyone! Oh I love my little Roo!!! :)
